Holiday Schedule

Memorial Day there will be NO Interruption in garbage, recycling and greenwaste collection service on Memorial Day. The Transfer Station and main office will be closed.

Independence Day  there will be No Interruption in garbage, recycling and greenwaste collection service on Independence Day. The main office and Transfer Station will be closed Tuesday, July 4th.

Labor Day  there will be No Interruption in garbage, recycling and greenwaste collection service on Labor Day. The Transfer Station and main office will be closed Monday, September 4th.

Thanksgiving Day  there will be No Interruption in garbage, recycling and greenwaste collection service on Thanksgiving Day. The Transfer Station will be closed Thursday, November 23rd. The main office will be closed Thursday, November 23rd.

Christmas Day falls on a Monday, therefore, garbage, recycling and greenwaste collection service will be delayed by one day all week. Friday service will occur on Saturday. The Transfer Station and office will be closed on Monday, December 25th.

New Years Day  also falls on a Monday this year, therefore, garbage, recycling and greenwaste collection service will be delayed by one day all week. Friday service will occur on Saturday. The Transfer Station and office will be closed on Monday, January 1st.

Christmas Tree Pickup  Pleasanton Garbage Service will now be picking up clean, green Christmas trees for recycling on your regular collection day beginning on Monday, January 8, 2024 and ending on Friday, January 12, 2024.

Tree must be cut into four-foot lengths and placed at the curb the night before pickup. Please remove stands, tinsel, ornaments and lights. Pleasanton Garbage Service is not responsible for any decorations that are left on the tree.

Flocked trees or trees with tinsel cannot be recycled. Please call 925-846-2042 to arrange for disposal of your flocked or tinseled tree. An additional fee will apply unless you use one of the three Bulky Item Collections available.

You may place your green Christmas tree inside your food/greenwaste cart and it will be picked up on your regular service day. Only clean trees are accepted (no flocking or tinsel). Tree branches and stumps must be cut up in lengths that will allow the lid to securely close.

Pleasanton residents may also bring Christmas trees to the Transfer Station at 3110 Busch Rd. free of charge until January 31, 2024. Please give our office a call at (925) 846-2042 with any questions.

Christmas Tree PickupBoy Scout Tree Recycling Day  Boy Scout Troop 941 in Pleasanton will hold its annual Christmas Tree Pickup and Recycling Day on Saturday, January 6, 2024. Starting at 8am, an enthusiastic group of about 40 scouts, 10 box trucks and many parent volunteers will collect over 1000 trees, which will be converted into over 15 tons of mulch! Funds raised by the project are used by the Scouts to pay for new equipment, camp fees and other outdoor activities.
