Transfer Station

Our Recycling Center has permanently closed.

Place recyclable materials in your mixed recycling cart (blue lid) and place out for pick up on your regularly scheduled collection day for materials to be properly recycled. For other Recycling Options see https://www.cityofpleasantonca.gov/resident/recycling/buyback.asp

The Transfer Station is open seven days a week from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The Transfer Station is located at 3110 Busch Rd., Pleasanton (click here to get driving instructions). The Transfer Station will be closed on the following holidays: New Years Day, Presidents Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.

The Pleasanton Transfer Station accepts all non-hazardous solid waste. The Pleasanton Transfer Station no longer accepts treated wood. The fees for disposing of most items are outlined below. Hard to handle items may be charged at a higher rate. In addition, heavy materials such as dirt, concrete, sod, rock, etc. will be weighed and charged by the ton.

Effective July 1, 2023, rates for Pleasanton residents are based on $13.76 per cubic yard with a minimum charge of $8.92. Customers will be asked to show their driver's license or a copy of their Pleasanton Garbage Service bill to verify City of Pleasanton residency.

Rates for non-Pleasanton residents are based on $33.78 per cubic yard with a one-yard minimum.

Commercial customers (in town or out of town) may dump at our facility. Our rates are based on $33.78 per cubic yard or $168.93 per ton for heavy materials. Construction Demo per cubic yard is $42.60. Commercial customers may apply for an account if qualifying criteria is met (download application here).

The Pleasanton Transfer Station now accepts Visa and Mastercard.

Electronic waste such as televisions, computers, monitors, VCR, printers, fax machines are accepted for recycling at our Pleasanton Transfer Station. The gatekeeper will direct you to a separate drop-off area. Fees are based on the item(s) brought to us.

Go Green Initiative interns took the 360 camera to their local Material Recovery Facility (MRF), owned by Pleasanton Garbage Service, to learn more about what happens to their recycling once it leaves the curb. It was not what they expected! Tune in to see the people and the machines that make recycling possible.

Pleasanton’s Reuse Trailer
Do you have furniture or other items that are in good condition that you would like to donate rather than throw away? Visit the Reuse Trailer at the Pleasanton Transfer Station. See the gate attendant and let them know that you have item(s) and they will direct you. Items in the Reuse Trailer are looking for a new home so if you see something you like feel free to take it at no charge.

Items in the Reuse Trailer are donated by customers or rescued from the garbage and recycling areas of the Pleasanton Transfer Station and placed in the Reuse Trailer for customers to take home at no charge.
